Describe an inspection that you are particularly proud of: (Specifics on mold issue, Client relationship, What was rewarding about it)
I have done a lot of home inspections the past 10 years and the ones that stand out to me give me further insight and motivation. There was an inspection I did where I was brought out to do the job on a Real Estate transaction. The client was worried and upset that she would have to spend thousands of dollars just to remediate. I did the testing and it did turn out to be a widespread mold infestation. I sent the reports and included the cleanup process and ended up saving her thousands of dollars. She hugged me and was in tears when she thanked me. It was very rewarding just by simply doing my job.

Mold Inspection & Testing Highland Park Illinois
For clients that do have elevated levels of mold in their property, we supply a comprehensive protocol for restoration. This includes a step-by-step process for how the job should be handled and who should be doing the work. Mold remediation is different than a standard remodeling job. When removing moldy materials, you are sending thousands of mold spores into the air. For this reason, problem areas should be contained and equipped with an airscrubber while work is being completed. After contaminated materials are removed, walls must be hepa vaccumed and treated with antimicrobial solutions and sealants. These are things that professional remediation companies have the capabilities of doing that a normal handyman would not. If this type of work is attempted by someone without the proper experience, there is a high chance they will only further the air quality issues within the home or business.
When dealing with these kinds of issues in your residence or business, you want to make sure that you appoint a company without a conflict of interest. Hiring a Highland park, Illinois mold remediation company to complete an inspection is an example of what you don’t want to do. These companies often offer free inspections to get their foot in their door to pitch a larger, more costly job. As we already mentioned, sometimes people have tests that come back with no problem at all or one small enough to be handled on their own. A visual inspection could never tell you these types of details and some mold remediation companies would not forego the opportunity for work by letting you know your concerns are unwarranted.
