Clearance Testing Advice
Whenever a mold remediation is performed, a Post-Remediation Clearance Test should be performed. On larger projects you can likely request a discount on the final estimate given so you can pay for the clearance test or at the very least split the cost. Even if the mold remediation project is relatively small (one area), you should require that the company contracted offer a guarantee of passing clearance. If they guarantee the work, the client typically covers the cost of the initial clearance but if they do fail the restoration company is required not only to perform more cleaning but also pay for an additional Clearance Test. This is the best way to make sure the job is completed correctly and indoor air quality is back to acceptable levels.
