Mold Inspection & Testing Charlottesville offers all of Albermarle county Virgina unbiased mold assessments; no conflict of interest! If you are worried that indoor mold growth is negatively impacting your air quality, hiring MI&T is definitely the best first step to take in the restoration process. Rather than hiring someone to come out for a free estimate, it is better to contract a third party inspector to verify the problem, determine the extent and set the steps for mold remediation to ensure no unnecessary work is being performed. Ultimately you spend a little more money up front to save in the long run.
The process starts with an initial visual inspection that is usually $300 for residential or $500 for commercial and includes 2 tests; an inside vs. outside air comparison. Inspectors recommend additional tests at $75 each which can be air or surface and you have the choice on whether they are taken and submitted or not. These additional tests are beneficial in helping us determine the source of the problem, if a problem has spread and/or if there is a problem that has yet to go airborne.
After the inspection, all the tests that are collected are sent to an independent laboratory for analysis. The inspector receives the results and makes their final determination as to whether or not a problem exists that requires professional remediation. Clients who do not need restoration will receive a clearance letter stating conditions are normal and no other action is necessary. In the event elevated conditions do exist, we provide a protocol with steps for mold removal. Typically restoration companies can provide an estimate directly off this report or at least a ballpark figure.
