Mold people have been lucky enough to avoid needing a mold inspection in Greenville. If you fall into that category, you may be wondering what exactly we do. Upon arrival, we’ll listen to your concerns and basically have you tell the inspector why you hired us. We usually start in the area that you are most concerned about and proceed to check all other areas as well. The inspector will be looking for water intrusion, excess moisture and visible mold. Detection tools like moisture meters and thermal imaging cameras are used to locate potential problems that cannot necessarily be seen with the naked eye.

Describe an inspection that you are particularly proud of: (Specifics on mold issue, Client relationship, What was rewarding about it)

I have had several inspections where I was called in to find the issues that were affecting the clients. One was where we found PVC cement and gasoline, that was causing an unidentifiable odor. After applying the correct tests, the client was able to clear his home of these two compounds and solved his issues. There was another incident when I was called into a nuclear power company to assess the mold issue. High stress was the first day in the power plant. The second day became no stress. I was proud of helping the facility and was called on several times to correct other issues.

Why should a prospective client choose you to perform their mold inspection?:

Experience and always learning. Every job is a new experience where I learn something that helps me to be able to assess the indoor air quality better.

MI&T

Mold Inspection & Testing Greenville South Carolina

Even if you can’t see visible growth, our Greenville mold testing will be able to uncover potential growth. How can we possible do that you ask? Well we always start our inspections with an inside vs. outside air assessment. Even if there is visible growth we always test the air over everything. You see, there are mold spores all around us at low levels all the time. A comparison in a healthy home will show similar levels inside and out. In a residential or commercial property with a mold problem, the air sample inside will show elevated levels of certain mold and/or the presence of toxic black mold which should never be present. Air samples will detect a problem before it becomes visible or if someone is trying to cover it up with a simple temporary cleaning.

Customers that have mold tests showing elevated levels or problematic species are provided a detailed report with steps that should be completed by a professional mold remediation company. MI&T is a “test only” company that operates without a conflict of interest. Unfortunately our industry has caught some flak for unethical business practices and contractors taking advantage of people fearing mold problems. They exaggerate how bad an issue is in the hopes of gaining the removal work. We do not even offer these services so you do not have to worry about that with our inspections.

Hopefully this has enlightened you a little bit on our process. We have a great deal of information throughout the website and we invite you to research as much as possible to decide if this service is right for you. If you’d like to speak to someone personally we have customer service representatives standing by everyday. They’ll also be able to schedule your appointment if you do not want to book online. Thanks for your interest, we look forward to serving you!
